here I tell you step-by-step make khichdi recipe:
1st Ingredients you need
- 2tbsp Ghee
- 1 ½ cup Rice
- 1 cup Moong dal soaked
- Salt to taste
- ½ cup winter Carrots
- Water as required
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- ½ tsp Red chilli powder
For Tadka
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 inch Ginger, chopped
- 2-3 Green chilli , chopped
- 2 large Onion, chopped
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Red chili powder
- ½ tsp Coriander powder
- ¼ cup French beans,chopped
- ¼ cup Green peas
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped
Serves it with
- Ghee
- Curd
- Papad
- Fry Ilish
- fry ring brinjal
Process to make
- In a pressure cooker add ghee, moong dal and roast well.
- Add rice, salt to taste, winter carrot, water as required, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, mix well and cover it with the top and cook for 2 to 3 whistles.
- Add ghee, oil, cumin seeds in another pan and let it crackle..
- Add chopped ginger, green chilli, onion and saute till its translucent.
- Add salt to taste, red chilli powder, coriander powder saute well.
- Add french beans, green peas saute well on medium fire. Add cooked dal and rice and mix well till it thickens. Add a few water, cover and cook it for 5-6 minutes and it is prepared to serve.
- Garnish with coriander and serve the moong dal khichdi with little extra ghee on top.
- Additionally it is usually served afterwards with some papad,curd,fry Ilish and also fry brinjal.Which is very dear to Bengalis.
